The method

A closed loop. Prompt set to citation gap to CMS change to re-scan to re-measure. Repeated every month until the brand earns the recommendation.

The measurement loop

  1. 01

    Prompt set

Define the queries your target buyers actually use in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini. Category questions, comparison questions, brand-adjacent questions. This is the baseline.

  2. 02

    Citation gap analysis

Run the prompt set in Profound. Map where the brand appears, where it is absent, and which competitors are cited instead. Identify the content, schema, and structural gaps that explain the absence.

  3. 03

    CMS and schema change

Implement in Contentstack — heading model, schema fields, answer blocks, alt text, content model fields, and entry structure. Component-level issues go to engineering as a separate list. Editors publish inside the updated model.

  4. 04

    CrownPeak re-scan

Re-run the template set through CrownPeak after changes ship. Confirm critical and serious accessibility findings are closed. Catch any regressions introduced by new content.

  5. 05

    Profound re-measure

Re-run the prompt set. Track citation rate, engine-by-engine presence, and prompt coverage. Report what moved, what did not, and what the next cycle targets.

Named tools

Profound

AI visibility monitoring. Tracks brand citation rate across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews on a defined prompt set.

CrownPeak

Accessibility scanning. Identifies critical and serious WCAG issues at the template level — not page-by-page, but across the pattern set.

Contentstack

Headless CMS. Content model design, entry types, modular components, and field-level schema integration.

Shopify Plus

Commerce backend. Storefront API, product data, catalog structure, and headless frontend integration.

What this is not

  • Accessibility overlays — they do not close CrownPeak findings and they create legal risk
  • 40-post content mills — AI citation comes from structural clarity, not publishing volume
  • Theme rebuilds or platform migrations — the work happens inside the architecture you already have
  • Paid media or CRO — separate disciplines, separate firms
  • One-time audits with no implementation path — the loop only works if changes ship
